The organisation is looking to recruit a Legal Counsel to join its busy in-house legal team on a temporary basis. The role is FTC for 12 months and is based in Edinburgh.
This is a broad and interesting in-house role, and its purpose is to provide professional legal advice to all departments within the organisation, with a particular focus on commercial contracts. Key tasks will include:
Drafting, negotiation, and ongoing advice in respect of a wide variety of commercial agreements, including material outsourced service contracts, IT contracts, and general service and supply contracts.
Assisting the Senior Legal Counsel in delivering advice on major regulatory change projects.
Advising on fund launches, mergers and closures, and assisting in the preparation and co-ordination of FCA applications to secure relevant approvals.
Supporting the Senior Legal Counsel in analysing legal risk connected with investment activities.
The team is keen to speak with lawyers qualified in either Scotland or England (or dual qualified), with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE, ideally with experience of commercial contracts and data protection. Candidates with experience in any commercial area will be considered, should they be able to demonstrate a genuine desire to work in-house.
This role presents an opportunity tailored for individuals with an inclination towards in-house roles, offering them the chance to explore this avenue on a temporary basis. The team operate a hybrid working model which allows employees to work from home two days per week.
