Description
You'll be responsible for:
- Providing and overseeing the provision of legal advice to support delivery of bank-wide projects in line with internal deadlines. Acting as a source of professional legal expertise to stakeholders including Products, Risk, Marketing, Digital, Operations, Financial Support Services, Branches, Change and Rectifications. ?
- Advising on new product development, legal and regulatory developments, digital adoption, terms and conditions, marketing, operational queries and all legal issues related to personal and business banking products as well as our range of third party offers available through MyRewards.
- Maintaining an awareness of internal projects and external legal developments and how these affect the business, tailoring your advice accordingly.
- Contributing to reporting and escalation of legal or governance issues and inputting to recommended solutions as required. ?
- Building and maintaining an internal network and stakeholder relationships. ?
Profile
To make sure you're set up for success you'll already have these skills and experience:
- Be a qualified lawyer in Scotland or England, ideally with a minimum of 5 years' relevant post qualification experience, though other levels of experience will be considered.
- Have financial services products/regulatory legal knowledge and/or In House experience. Payments and/or consumer credit experience would be beneficial.
- Possess an eye for detail with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Have the ability to provide pragmatic legal advice and proactively offer legally compliant and customer-focused solutions.
- Experience working on multiple projects at the same time with proven ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines effectively.
- Willingness to 'lean in' to wider Legal Team demands with desire to upskill in new areas and support other sub-teams, as required.
