INCLUSION OFFICERSalary: GRADE 6, £25,979 x 78.84%
Hours: 32.5 Hours, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2024
NOR: 1200The Internal Exclusion Lead will work under the guidance of the Progress Leaders and in conjunction with the Assistant Headteacher (ALNCo and inclusion) to provide support in addressing challenging behaviour through the use of an inclusion facility as part of the Relationships for learning policy.
Our new ‘All Age School’ will open on the existing Hawthorn footprint in September 2024. The £28 million new build and renovation of existing buildings is already progressing, and this investment will provide an excellent 21st century learning facility for 1200 pupils, and our wider community. It is an exciting and important milestone in the changes to educational provision for all learners in the wider catchment of Hawthorn and we hope that you will want to be part of our journey.
Ysgol Afon Wen will ignite the spark in every child’s learning journey. We will immerse ourselves in three clear phases; to ensure all pupils - ‘Activate’, ‘Advance’ and ‘Achieve’ personal learning success and shine brightly throughout their time with us. It is our vision and commitment that all pupils will experience an outstanding, inclusive educational offer, irrelevant of age or ability by immersion in a truly All Age learning experience.
Ysgol Afon Wen is not the creation of a large primary and secondary school on one site, but the development of a truly inclusive 3-16 school, which will embrace the best of innovative and high impact practice.
We are seeking a committed team, who share our vision for excellence within our school and who can bring our vision to life, through a culture of support and trust at our school. We wish to appoint self-motivated, self-disciplined practitioners who are compulsively driven to do their best, who can successfully create a wide variety of learning experiences within and outside the classroom and are driven to succeed. In return, our school will be a positive environment for all who learn and work in it. We will invest and support colleagues through a highly effective professional learning offer, where achievements are celebrated, and contributions valued in maximising the successes of our school.
We are looking for colleagues who value the success of their peers as much as their own and who prioritise the success of the whole child. Whilst we will set high standards of behaviour across the school, every pupil and colleague will be treated with respect and feel included. We very much hope that the opportunities and challenges facing us as we plan and open the new school will excite you as they do us, and that you will want to embrace the vision for change with commitment to ensure that our success belongs to everyone.
Over the next 12 months, there will be opportunities and challenges as we transform our new school from the page to stage. We hope that you will embrace the changes ahead and that you will want to be part of our All Age school. The closing date for this post is Thursday 25 January 2024 at 12 midnight.PROTECTING CHILDREN AND ADULTS AT RISK IS A CORE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SCHOOL AND COUNCIL.
