Purpose of the job
To be responsible for the entirety of the Councils current rent arrears management function, including initial engagement and warning letters, producing and serving notices, all court action, to attending evictions and producing KPI’s and monitoring data Working in close partnership with internal/external agencies to maximise customer’s economic potential, reduce vulnerability, promoting financial, digital and social independence.
About You
We are looking for someone who will provide an excellent quality service to all tenants and to meet targets and performance standards relevant to the assigned duties in order to achieve high standards of service delivery and income collection.
You will be required to carry out reviews and investigations on our arrears cases and take the appropriate actions and support tenants. You will have significant experience of working with individuals and families with both multiple and complex needs. The successful applicant will have a fair but firm approach and be able to devise an action plan for each tenant which will not only able them to resolve their arrears, but also assist with any wider financial and support issues. Therefore, a determined and pragmatic approach is essential.
Experience in income management is essential and understanding and previous experience of attending representing a client in court is required.
You must have a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.
A thorough working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of applications, income management and court processes and helping tenants sustain their tenancies is a key requirement of this post. A working knowledge and understanding of housing related matters would be advantageous.
