Salary Independent Reviewing Officer
Location: Leeds
Rate: £37 umbrella
Hours: 37 Per week

An Independent Reviewing Officer is required within the Looked After Service for Leeds City Council.
Duties Include:
* Monitor the performance of the Local Authority of their functions in relation to the child’s care plan.
* Ensure plans for children are based on detailed and informed assessment, are up to date, effective and provide a real and genuine response to a child’s needs.
* Highlight and prevent and ‘drift’ in care planning for Looked After Children and the delivery of services to them.
* Confidently challenge and deficits in the quality of delivery of the child’s care plan either informally or through the statutory dispute resolution process
* Chair statutory Looked After Child Reviews in line with regulatory requirements, and liaise appropriately with operational staff.
* Ensure that any ascertained wishes and feelings of the child are given due to consideration by the Local Authority Skills, knowledge and experience.

* DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work
* Social Work England registration
* Enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
* Excellent communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on information available.
* Previous IRO Experience
* Can work alone and within/contribute to a team/multi-agency set ups.
* Possess knowledge of service needs.
* Competent IT skills and be able to navigate electronic file/recording systems.
* Can write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files.
* Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises
