Job description

Job title:Independent Living Coordinator

Pay rate: £12.38 - £13.47 per hour

Work mode: On-site with one day working from home

Location: Rugby Borough Council and the surrounding area

Contract duration: 3 months temporary ongoing

Working hours: 37 hours

About the Role:

Join our team as an Independent Living Co-ordinator and make a significant impact on the lives of residents in the council’s Independent Living Schemes. You will play a crucial role in promoting independence, health, and wellbeing among our residents while ensuring they receive exceptional housing management services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively within a small team to provide Independent Living and housing management services to residents within allocated Independent Living Schemes.
  • Conduct regular visits to residents' homes to assess wellbeing and provide support as needed.
  • Liaise with external agencies, care providers, and support networks to address residents' welfare concerns promptly.
  • Promote health and wellbeing by organising events and activities for residents within communal facilities.
  • Collaborate with council services and external organizations to enrich communal areas with engaging activities.
  • Provide comprehensive housing management services to scheme residents, including maintenance and safety checks.
  • Ensure compliance with fire and health & safety regulations and promptly report any issues.
  • Facilitate the installation and maintenance of lifeline equipment and assistive technology for residents.
  • Support residents in understanding and adhering to fire evacuation procedures and other safety measures.
  • Assist in estate walkabouts to address tenancy breaches and health & safety concerns.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with older and vulnerable populations, promoting Independent Living.
  • Understanding of issues affecting Independent Living, such as dementia, falls, and isolation
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and adapt to changing needs.
  • Full driving license
  • Flexibility to work across multiple locations.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, Data Protection, and confidentiality
