Responsibilities:
- Menu planning and development: Collaborating with management to create and update the menu, ensuring it offers a variety of authentic Indian curry dishes.
- Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards: Adhering to strict cleanliness and safety protocols to prevent contamination and maintain a safe kitchen environment.
- Managing kitchen staff and operations: Supervising and coordinating the activities of kitchen personnel to ensure smooth operations during service hours.
- Maintaining quality control: Monitoring the quality of dishes throughout the cooking process and before they are served to customers, ensuring they meet established standards.
- Customer interaction and satisfaction: Interacting with customers to understand their preferences and ensure a positive dining experience.
- Staying updated on culinary trends: Continuing education to stay informed about current food trends, new ingredients, and cooking techniques.
- Cost control and inventory management: Managing food costs, minimizing waste, and optimizing inventory levels to maximize profitability.
Duties:
- Procuring and preparing ingredients: Sourcing, inspecting, and preparing ingredients for use in curry dishes.
- Cooking curries according to recipes: Executing the cooking process with precision and consistency, following established recipes.
- Balancing flavors and seasoning: Adjusting spices and seasoning to achieve the desired taste profile of each curry.
- Supervising kitchen activities: Overseeing the activities of kitchen staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and according to standards.
- Innovating with new recipes and techniques: Experimenting with new ingredients or cooking methods to create unique curry dishes.
- Monitoring food quality during service: Checking dishes before they are served to customers to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment: Ensuring kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and maintained to ensure functionality and compliance with safety regulations.
