Hours of work: 11 hours INA + 3 Hours MDSA per week
Working pattern: Part-time, Term-time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 5.85 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)
(As the position is part-time/term-time only, the above salary will be pro rata)
Fixed term for: 6 months

Buxted CofE Primary is looking for an enthusiastic Individual Needs Assistant to join our fantastic junior team.

Buxted is a thriving rural primary with a committed, friendly staff. We have motivated happy children who are rewarding to work with and supportive families. 
 
You'll be working closely with the class teacher, an experienced Teaching Assistant and the SENCO to provide support for an engaging and motivated lower junior pupil with special educational needs, helping them flourish and succeed here in the school. 

We need someone who is: 

• Compassionate and caring, patient and intuitive with a good sense of fun. 
• An interest in child speech and language development.
• Able to adapt learning tasks to suit the child they're working with. 
• Able to run small group activities.
• Able to run targeted specific speech and language interventions.
• Happy to follow the lead of the teacher but able to recognise the unique needs of the child. 
• Able to read advice from outside agencies and put it into practice in the classroom and in individual sessions. 
• Able to engage warmly and confidently with parents. 

Experience of working with children with additional needs is preferred, but showing a willingness to develop your knowledge and being happy to support the class teacher with the development of a suitable programme of work for the child will be viewed very positively. 

The role is for 11 hours INA + 3hrs MDSA term time. Working hours will be: Wednesday 12- 3pm, Thursday 9am - 3pm and  Friday 9am - 3pm. The salary is pro-rata.
Applicants will also need to participate in whole school activities and to support the daily work and ethos of a Church of England Primary School.
