Industrial Disease Paralegal / Fee Earner - We are currently recruiting for the lead Partner in the defendant Industrial Disease team of one of our 'top tier' clients. The successful candidate will operate mostly in an assisting capacity as well as gradually developing their own caseload. Ideally candidates will have Industrial Disease experience but this is not absolutely necessary for the role.

Overview

• Job Title: Paralegal / Litigation Executive / Legal Executive / Solicitor
• Location: Liverpool
• Salary: £25,000 to £35,000
• Reports to: Experienced complex disease lawyer
• Previous experience: Some form of file handling experience and understanding of the litigation process, whether pre-litigated or litigated would be useful, but is not essential Industrial disease experience would be beneficial but is also not necessary. The hiring managers will consider a wide range of candidates.

Complex litigated Industrial Disease work

The role involves assisting an experienced Industrial Disease lawyer with a litigated caseload of Industrial Disease matters especially complex work including asbestos, respiratory and HAVS cases. The hiring managers are willing to consider a broad range of candidates to support with delegated tasks where the candidate will be given the opportunity to hone their own litigation skills. In particular, you will develop experience:

• analysing evidence including medical records
• drafting court documents
• preparing trial bundles
• Instructing counsel where necessary
• negotiation
• advocacy, including attending telephone hearings
