Industrial Electrician Vacancy (Permanent Employed Basis – No Sub Contractors Please)

We are an electrical engineering and contracting company based in Ossett, West Yorkshire. We have been established for over 35 years and the majority of our work force have come through our in-house apprenticeship scheme plus a large percentage of staff have worked for the company for over 15 years. We currently work on a local and national basis for many blue chip companies. An increasingly large part of our work is in Atex (Explosive) areas within manufacturing environments, Voltage Optimisation Installations and Machine Automation.

Due to continued expansion we are looking to add to our team of skilled knowledgeable and motivated Industrial Installation Electricians. Duties include:- Installation, Maintenance and Fault Finding of industrial electrical equipment.

The most important skills you should possess include problem-solving, troubleshooting and analytical and critical thinking capabilities. You should be a strong communicator and team member who can also work independently as needed. Attention to detail, time management skills and organisational skills are also a vital part of this role. As an Industrial Electrician at Advanced Electrical Services (YKS) Ltd you should also excel in installing various types of industrial equipment and different size and type of cabling and containment systems plus repairing and maintaining electrical systems.

We are looking for experienced individuals who are motivated and take pride in their work. Candidates are required to be time served apprentice trained Electricians with over 3 years experience who have a good understanding of different installation methods in an industrial environment, electrical testing and reactive fault finding.

Compex (Hazardous Areas) qualifications would be an advantage although not compulsory as would Testing and Inspection qualifications.

Standard 40 hours per week Monday to Friday however regular weekend and evening work is required on an ad-hoc basis to service our customers requirements. Overtime will be paid at increased rates of time and a half and double time. We anticipate average working week to be 50hrs+. You will be provided with a company van and you must hold a full clean driving licence.

We provide a company pension following successful completion of our 6 month probationary period.
