Industrial Hygiene Specialist - Permanent Staff - Yorkshire - Chemicals
Our client is one of the world's heavyweights in chemical manufacturing. Their Yorkshire site is well established, employs over 300 people and is renowned for its robust 'no cut corners' approach to heath & safety.
An opportunity has now emerged for an Industrial Hygiene Specialist, where you'll join a small IH team and become a subject matter expert providing operational, technical and planning support for site assets, third parties and other stakeholders. 
Specifically, you will:
 - Lead the planning and delivery of Industrial Hygiene support to Chemical Manufacturing and other stakeholders including delivery of agreed third party programmes as required.
 - Maintain awareness of technical and legislative developments in the field of environmental and occupational hygiene science, identifying and responding to those of relevance,
 - Lead the development and delivery of the Site Health Map environmental and Industrial Hygiene programme.
 - Provide an environmental and Industrial Hygiene troubleshooting service as required.
 - Lead, supervise and train Analytical Technicians and manufacturing technicians in the execution of agreed EIH activities.
 - Supervise and train staff in relevant IH skills.
 - Take a lead in all HSSE issues within the analytical laboratory and contribute to the development of a HSSE culture fully aligned with the goals of the site.
 - Lead the maintenance of the technology for environmental and occupational hygiene capability and skill base within the site.
 - Be responsible for the development of key EIH techniques to meet the existing and future needs of the company and its customers.
 - Create and participate in networks external to site to gain knowledge and maintain awareness of EIH developments providing EIH advice as required.
As there is an existing IH specialist in the team, my client is happy to consider a broad range of experience levels for this role - it may be that you are highly experienced and looking for a fresh challenge, it may be you are a first career mover and would relish the opportunity to benefit from mentorship and develop your career in a major facility with a wide range of challenges to tackle (chemicals, fibres, noise, light, heat, sound etc)
Ideally, you'll be qualified to degree level or equivalent and vocational qualifications such as NEBOSH / BOHS would be highly desirable.
