Job description

Industrial Planner / Lead Industrial Planner 18 month contract based on site in Plymouth to start asap £neg
To manage the adequacy between Demand (Firm & Forecast) and Resources (Manufacturing & Procurement) to reach customers QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) and projects timescales while optimising site resources (people, machines & cash).
Key accountabilities:
Apply Industrial Planning Golden rules.
Apply EHS (Environment Health Safety) rules (Zero Deviation Plan) when moving in workshops
Manage demand (firm & forecast) in the Core Planning Tools and/or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)
TASKS
1.Capture the Demand
To consolidate and analyse the demand forecast (BoQs / BOMs (Business Opportunity Management) and forecast plan) from tender team, project team and S&OP (Sales & Operations Plan) demand plan
Check the consistency and completeness of the demand forecast and put in place corrective actions when needed.
Inject the demand forecast into GSI (and / or Short-Term Monthly Demand Planning tool)
Contribute to the anticipation process (consolidate, check approval process consistency, perform netting when Sales Order is placed)
For firm demand, validate the adequacy between the need expressed by the project team and the product lead-time communicated by the supplier before registering the firm need into GSI (through Sales Order, Activity Network, Purchasing Info Record (PIR), etc.)
Guarantee that the data inside the ERP / Core Planning Tool are the latest update.
2. Contribute to planning instances & monthly reporting.
Collaborate to the quarterly S&OP:
Build the industrial planning for opportunities in coherency with inputs from tender team, project team, site strategic plan and firm projects already in the portfolio.
Perform operations workload versus workforce analysis and analyse bottlenecks (site capacity)
Provide output to central S&OP team for global consolidation.
Ensure that S&OP instance decisions are reflected as input into Sales Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP)
Participate to the SIOP cycle by doing the appropriate simulations and propose feasible scenario to support decisions to be taken (with internal and/or external solution)
Ensure that SIOP instance decisions are reflected into MPS and/or Material Delivery Plan and cascade through the organization with appropriate communication to internal / external suppliers.
Support the stakeholders (i.e. Product Manager, Obsolescence Manager & Catalogue Managers) in production volumes analysis / consolidation.
Report the Work In Progress (WIP) and Finished goods (FG) for Hard Inventory (HI) consolidation in time
Report the Manufacturing Throughput and Production Performance KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) in time.
Ensure that all KPIs are calculated according to the standard rules.
3.Build and update the Master Production Schedule (Firm Demand only)
Build the production plan taken into account availability of Material, Men, Machine (3M approach)
Get the commitment on the hypothesis taken from all stakeholders
Resource Management:
Calculate manufacturing and testing workload inside the Planning Tool / ERP
Identify the quantity of resources (not nominatively) needed per workshop, metier, skills
Share results for monthly meeting
Manage resource with industrial team and HR
Bottleneck analysis:
Identify the bottlenecks as well as all other possible risks on the production plan.
Alert Industrial Planning manager and PrPM / SSM of the projects involved each time maximum capacity is reached.
Propose scenario to secure and/or recover production plan (internal and/or external solution)
Daily monitoring:
Monitor production plan adherence.
Analyse the root causes of delay of the production plan (using 5-Why method) and their impact (including on other projects in case of multi project line)
Participate to alignment meeting with industrial teams (Manufacturing / Testing / Supply Chain)
Contribute to escalation process in case of non-adherence.
Guarantee that the data inside the ERP / Core Planning Tool are the latest update.
Update industrial planning into the Planning Tool / ERP each time there is a change validated by all stakeholders.
Update weekly the actual dates and communicate internally on the production plan status through a cockpit (tables, graphs, …)
Prepare and participate to site planning instances / meetings.
In case of particular event (strike, pandemic, supplier crisis, etc.):
Evaluate impact by doing simulation to be validated in the appropriate instance.
After decision is taken, update industrial planning into the Planning Tool / ERP
Educational Requirements:
Graduated from university or engineering school (Master's degree) Desirable
Experience:
Experience in supply chain or in planning
Knowledgeable of End-to-End vision for Industrial Planning process and process impact in ERP for procurement and manufacturing
