Job description

The Infant Feeding Peer Supporter will work as part of the 0-19 Children's Health Team. Peer supporters offer advice to breastfeeding mothers, addressing their concerns and answering questions, providing support and  encouragement to help successful feeding. They will also facilitate group sessions, creating safe spaces for sharing experiences and learning from others.

The role also includes educating families on breastfeeding techniques, positioning , and the benefits of breastfeeding. They will collaborate with local professionals from Family Hubs, Children's Centres and health colleagues to raise awareness with regard to breast feeding. 

Infant Feeding Peer Support

Are you passionate about breastfeeding and dedicated to supporting families during their early parenting journey. If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Lincolnshire team as a breastfeeding Peer supporter.

In Lincolnshire we are committed to supporting families on their breastfeeding journey by offering compassionate care, education and guidance to parents to ensure they have the knowledge and confidence to nourish their infants through breastfeeding.

As an Infant feeding Peer support worker you will play a crucial role in promoting and supporting breastfeeding within our community alongside the Health Visiting teams. You will work closely with families to provide practical assistance, emotional support and evidenced based information. Your role will contribute to the overall health and well-being of both mothers and babies and provide added support to families to successfully breastfeed.

You will need to have a passion for and experience in supporting breastfeeding. A recognised qualification in breastfeeding is desirable but not essential. Flexibility to work varying hours and be enthusiastic about making a positive impact on families.
