Croydon University Maternity Services are looking for an innovative, resourceful and knowledgeable individual to join us. Do you have a proven track record in proving breastfeeding and Infant Feeding Support? Do you have a desire to provide Croydon mothers with excellent care in order to achieve their breastfeeding goals? Join us and be part of building an Infant Feeding Team for our mothers in Croydon.
Here in Croydon, we are in the process of building upon our work so far in achieving Stage 2 and working towards full accreditation of the UNICEF Baby Friendly Standards. We are searching for a keen and enthusiastic team member to support the woman of Croydon in their choice of Infant Feeding.
The successful candidate should possess knowledge of lactation, how breastfeeding works, UNICEF Baby Friendly Standards and the willingness to further develop themselves professionally. The post holder must be willing to undertake both clinical and educational duties as required. As well as supporting the unit clinically in times of increased activity.
The appointed Infant Feeding Support Worker will become part of the Infant Feeding Team at Croydon’s Health Services Maternity Unit. The post holder will work across the maternity unit but will be predominately be based on the postnatal ward. The role entails supporting and empowering women in their choice of Infant Feeding and to promote the initiation and maintenance of breastfeeding. The post-holder will contribute to the provision of a comprehensive breastfeeding service including delivery of the breastfeeding clinic, telephone support and supporting women to breastfeed their newborn babies. The post-holder will also be expected to support the Specialist Infant Feeding Lead with the implementation of UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Initiative, and maintain baby friendly standards across CHS.
