Job Description: Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Wantage, Oxford-based Area

Salary Range: £35,000 plus on call allowance of £5k 

Additional Benefits: 3/5 pension, private health coverage for the candidate (not dependents), and the option for family coverage (self-pay)

We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to fill a critical role in our rapidly expanding client.

Responsibilities:

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

- Designing network infrastructure.

- Preparing equipment, including configuring servers, switches, firewalls, and some automation tooling.

- Serving as the point of escalation for server and network issues.

- Collaborating effectively within a team environment.

- Participating in hardware preparation and configuration in our shed where stock is held.

- Conducting site visits for diagnostics.

- Visiting customer sites when special knowledge is required (expenses covered).

Requirements:

The ideal candidate for this Infrastructure Engineer position should have:

- Solid experience in the industry, particularly with Linux servers, networking, and architecture for design.

- While qualifications are preferred, they are not mandatory; we value practical experience and skills.

- Proficiency in working with Linux servers and Android tablets.

- A UK driver's license, with some points considered acceptable.

- Willingness to be on-call, with a rotation schedule after a period of training (an extra £5,000 for 1 in 3 weeks of on-call duty).
