Job description

Information and Assets Assistant

Salary - £27,803 - £31,364 (Grade 5)

Hours - 37 hours per week

Contract type - full time 

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and motivated Information and Assets Assistant. The role will be working under the direction of the Buildings Compliance Safety Manager. In this role you will be supporting the Compliance and Energy teams within City Assets. 

You will be responsible for managing building safety programmes, including updating of records and worksheets. Where actions are identified following inspections, you will help manage those actions to completion. To develop your knowledge of building safety, you will have opportunity to undertake site visits. You will also provide support on a range of financial issues, including capital programmes and budgets. 

You will help manage the energy database for the Council’s estate. This will include contacting energy suppliers regarding bills received and validation of billing data. To enable your understanding of energy supplies, you will carry out site visits to gain an understanding of energy supply layout and energy requirements. 

You will have a BTEC in Engineering or Surveying or an equivalent business qualification to level 3, or relevant experience.  You will have a knowledge of buildings, databases and energy networks. 

You will also be self motivated and have good interpersonal skills.

Our working arrangements

All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empowers employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance.  Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location.  Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocation where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location.  Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
