Information Governance & Assurance Lead
Base salary: £36300 to c.£45350 depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer flexible benefits fund of 15% which is paid on top base salary and is fully pensionable, as well as a range of competitive benefits - check them out in the Benefits section on our website.

As an Information Governance & Assurance Lead at HS2 you will be responsible for leading governance and assurance activities, ensuring that data standards and policies are being adhered to across HS2. The role supports the development of a holistic approach to manage data as an asset inside HS2 IT.
About the role:
Define, implement, and monitor a governance framework to guide the use of data across HS2Develop HS2s IT Information Governance & Assurance approach, focusing on treating data as an asset and maintaining wider organisational complianceAssure continuation of standard approach for the technical assessment of HS2 information systems against information assurance polices and business objectivesDevelop information assurance policy, standards and guidelinesProvide advice and guidance to ensure adoption of and adherence to information assurance architectures, strategies, policies, standards and guidelinesContribute to the development of organisational strategies that address the evolving business risk and information control requirementsIdentify typical data risk indicators and plan for prevention measures, leveraging HS2s available dataRecognise decisions that are beyond their scope and responsibility level and escalate those decisions accordinglyActively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work, and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.About you:
Skills:
Information management. Ability to plan, implement and control the full life cycle management of digitally organised information and recordsInformation security. Ability to define, operate and maintain a framework of security controls. Can also identify and communicate security risks that arise from technical solution architecturesInformation assurance. Ability to review and perform risk assessment and treatment plans against managing risks related to the use, storage and transmission of data and information systemsGovernance. Ability to define and operate a framework for making decisions, managing stakeholder relationships, and identifying legitimate authority for ITData management. Ability to develop, implement and asses the integrity of plans, policies, and practices that control, protect and optimise the value of data assets. Can also provide advice on the transformation of data from one format to anotherKnowledge:
Knowledge of various information assurance polices and standards, with a focus on industry trendsKnowledge of data storage tools in used in HS2 projectsKnowledge of digital information technology, trends, and the opportunities they present.Type of Experience:
Experience in translating business requirements into engineered solutions aligned with architectural standards, in particular analytics solutionsExperience managing data as an asset inside a major organisation with similar compliance and risk management constraintsExperience in setting and complying with information policy directives.It is expected that you will actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.As HS2 Ltd do not hold a sponsorship license from the Home Office, we are not able to provide sponsorship to any applicant.
