If you answered “Yes,” to these questions then we have exciting opportunities within the Information Governance Service for four permanent, Information Rights Officers to join our team.

About the Role
Our Information Governance team provides a high-quality Information Rights Service, which responds to requests for information under Freedom of Information, Environmental Information Regulations and Data Protection/GDPR, within statutory timescales. It also responds to Police disclosure requests for information.
You will act as a point of contact with other Council services in order to gather and prepare information for release in response to customers’ requests and advise them of times when information cannot be released.
You will advise council officers and managers regarding information sharing, open data and what information may or may not be released.
You will also have the opportunity to work on wider projects within the Information Governance team.
Key Requirements
We are looking for a professional and enthusiastic Information Rights Officer to help us achieve our drive to provide excellent service in everything that we do.
The ability to learn new processes and systems is paramount. You will have strong communication skills, a good understanding of IT systems, a passion for helping others and a real commitment to service improvement.
Experience of working in an Information Governance or customer service environment with empathy and patience, and the ability to remain calm and diplomatic while working under pressure is essential.
