Information & Security Officer

Major Recruitment are currently looking for a Information & Security Officer in the City of London

• This role will be nights for a 3-month trial period
• 4 on 4 off shift pattern
• The hourly rate is 19.23. this includes contractual hours and unsocial hours
• Location: London SE1

Purpose of Post

To control the entry and egress of vehicular traffic and offer information to the cemetery and crematoriums stakeholders.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• To provide and maintain a visible security presence in order to prevent any form of criminal activity, illegal trading, protests, suspect hostile reconnaissance or members of the public attempting to jump into the river and to respond and defuse all types of aggressive behaviour from customers/ general public.

• To undertake all associated functions within the security control room including CCTV surveillance/ patrols (to provide detection and reporting of criminal activity or anti-social behaviour), operation of fire and intruder systems, door access/ barrier control system, management of contractors, deliveries, permits to work etc. and ensuring all documentation is completed

• To carry out regular patrols both internally and externally of the Bridge, Engine Rooms, gift shop and other associated areas during day and night shifts in accordance with the related working procedures ensuring areas are secure, free from litter and hazards, access routes and emergency exits are clear and the bridge structure/ fabric is in good order.

• To undertake banksman duties in the loading bay and car park including access control, monitoring and controlling all vehicle movements, receiving deliveries/ collections, manual handling, cleaning spillages etc. adherence to health and safety procedures, issuing visitor/ contractor passes and foot patrols of the loading bay and adjacent areas.

• Undertake to fulfil the role of designated First Aider or Appointed Person

• To undertake and fulfil the role of General Risk Assessor to support the Health & Safety Officer in producing risk assessments or reviewing existing ones

Experience needed;

• CCTV SIA license
• Control room environment experience
• Monitoring cctv and using cameras
• External controlling as well
• Worked in public sector - hospital museums building sites etc
