Job description
As Norwich University of the Arts grows and widens its provision of high-quality courses, research and knowledge exchange activities, so does the range of services that the IT team provides to its staff, students and other stakeholders. An exciting new opportunity now exists to join the University’s IT Services Team as our dedicated Information Security Officer. We are looking for someone who possesses a strong technical IT background, with a passion for and experience in information and cyber security. We have a considerable amount of information, intellectual property and other digital assets that require protection, and this role will be essential in providing the defences to do this. You will be monitoring our systems, looking for suspicious activity, working with our centralised detect and response systems, checking for vulnerabilities and identifying weaknesses. You will research the latest threats to our organisation and keep up to date on best practice and new initiatives in the cyber security environment. Liaising with external providers and networks, developing our Information Security policies and procedures, and providing security training to staff and students across the University will also be important aspects of your work. This role will be ideal for someone with experience in information and cyber security who wants to further develop these skills in a smaller enterprise environment.
