Infrastructure Engineer / Infrastructure Specialist - £50,000 - £64,000 + 10% bonus

We're working with a fast-growing SAAS/Software business who are on the hunt for an experienced Infrastructure Specialist.
You'll be responsible for providing operational and transformational improvements as well as the support and delivery of their internal infrastructure and client facing environments to provide a resilient and secure estate for their applications.
The organisation has an external private cloud (VMWare) and external public cloud (Azure) hosting operations on behalf of its clients, as well as an internal physical and virtualised infrastructure which needs to be managed and planned.
Day to day you'll be involved in:
- Ensuring the successful project delivery within agreed timelines and collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into effective IT solutions.
- Leading the evaluation and selection of technologies, adhering to industry best practices.
- Implementing secure remote access solutions for internal staff and external partners
- Providing technical guidance and support to IT teams, acting as a final escalation point
- Collaborating with suppliers and third-party partners to ensure seamless integration of IT solutions.
- Ensuring meticulous documentation, maintaining compliance with established standards.
- Implementing best practice deployments, hardening, monitoring and capacity management
- Feeding into Data Security as a company-wide responsibility - ISO27001, SOC1/2
- Assist with Cyber Security related practices and initiatives.
- Ensure highest standards of cyber security in the UK and overseas to ensure effective systems are in place both to protect against and to monitor for potential or actual data loss or security breaches.
Technical skills required:
- Technically proficient with a hands-on background and skillset in ICT infrastructure, Storage, Servers, Networking
- Experience in managing physical and virtualised Microsoft Windows environments, including clustering
- Strong knowledge of Cisco Networking, firewalls
- Proven network experience
- An excellent understanding of Cyber Security practices
- Excellent knowledge of VMware and Azure
- Previously worked with Veam
- Windows security hardening, monitoring, and reporting
- Oversee server monitoring, capacity management, reporting and service provision
- Working with the ICT team to deliver a third party managed security team and SOC deployment
- Strong focus on security
Experience / Qualifications required:
- A degree or equivalent in Computer Science or IT; demonstrable equivalent professional knowledge
- Experience within IT Infrastructure and Security
- Experience deploying within VMWare and Azure environments
- Experience working in a software vendor environment is advantageous
