Writtle College is nestled in the Essex countryside, and our 150-hectare campus features beautiful landscaped gardens, and state-of-the-art facilities. Our campus is home to specialised teaching spaces, focusing on animal, sport, environmental, agricultural and horticultural studies in our Further Education provision. We offer a mix of practical, and classroom-based learning, allowing our students to gain qualifications, and prepare for a rewarding career in their chosen field.

 

About the role:

We are looking for a committed individual to instruct on full and part time equine courses to our Further Education students, including teaching riding, and instilling the highest industry standard amongst our students during their weekly yard duties.

 

Working as part of the core Further Education Equine team, everything you do will strive for excellence. You will be required to develop student’s industry skills, across a range of equine yard duties, including horse turnout competition preparation. Additionally, you will support curriculum staff in preparing students for end point practical and synoptic assessments and undertake assessment.

 

The successful candidate will also provide innovative and comprehensive training activities across the Equine Training Centre, supporting competitions and external events as and when required.

 

To be selected for this role, you must be an enthusiastic individual with a passion to succeed. It is essential to have a proven track record of working in a similar role, along with being in possession of a BHSAI Exam and/or UKCC Level 2 Equine Coaching qualification. It would also be advantageous to hold a recognised teaching qualification, as well as an Assessor/Verifier Award.
