The Opportunity
We are now recruiting for an Instrument Engineer (EC&I), reporting to the Senior EC&I Engineer, to join our Operations Maintenance Support Team (OMST). The OMST team support our gas, power, chemical and fuel sites across the UK by completing assigned secondments to provide a range of key engineering support, improvement and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for delivering a mix of hands on operations and maintenance compliance support, projects, outages, role cover, consulting, planning and researching that will see you use and continually develop your engineering skills and knowledge.
You must be willing and able to travel to our different sites. The rest of your time will be spent supporting remotely, and so you can be based anywhere in the UK.
The successful candidate will be an engineer who is looking to broaden their knowledge and experience. You will be an effective communicator who is able to engage with people and develop positive working relationships quickly and work effectively with site teams. You will be committed to developing yourself towards professional registration and be passionate about delivering innovation, engineering & business improvements.
You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and, twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree qualified in instrumentation and control or DCS and Automation discipline
- Successful instrumentation contributions in a 24/7 environment including:
- Maintenance strategies.
- Vendor Contract management
- Outage planning/management
- Engineering & Operational interface
- Developing, implementing & evaluating improvements & modifications.
- Management of change
- Managing budgets
- Project design experience from Feasibility to Handover.
