Job description

The award-winning Lincolnshire Music Service is seeking high-quality, committed and driven Instrumental and Curriculum Tutors to join our teaching team from September 2024 (or before). 

We have a wide range of part-time teaching opportunities available in locations across the county which include the delivery of Upper Strings, Piano, Guitar, Curriculum and Woodwind. The ability to teach in large-groups/whole-classes as well as 1:1 is desirable with some of the teaching with a SEND focus. 

About the Role

The following Instrumental Tutors are required:

1. Boston and South Holland 

    Upper Strings, Piano, Guitar and Curriculum (including SEND)

2. South Kesteven 

    Upper Strings, Guitar and Curriculum (including SEND)

3. Lincoln and North Kesteven 

    Piano 

4. East Lindsey 

    Woodwind, Piano and Curriculum (including SEND)

 

The salary for this role is £21,885 - £32,409 (pro-rata) which equates to £18.88 - £27.70 per hour.

This role is term time only, over 36 weeks of the year. Additional holiday opportunities are available outside of these hours.

About You

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organisation skills with the ability to build strong partnerships with all stakeholders including schools and families.

You will be able to perform to a high standard of personal performance on your main instrument and ideally offer a second or even third instrument. In addition, you will have evidence of proficient teaching skills with the willingness and/or experience to deliver to large groups/whole classes as well as 1:1 lessons.

Lincolnshire is a large and rural county and so the ability and willingness to travel is essential.

Lincolnshire Music Service (LMS) is the lead organisation of the Lincolnshire Music Education Hub which is part-funded by Department for Education. LMS is part of Lincolnshire County Council and provides a supportive contractual model for Instrumental Tutors which also includes the Teachers' Pension Scheme as well as other benefits.
