Key Responsibilities:
As the Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing strategic plans for the management and maintenance of the transportation fleet
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the fleet, including vehicle scheduling, maintenance, and repairs
- Managing fleet budgets and expenditure, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising service quality
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure the availability and reliability of vehicles
- Implementing and monitoring safety procedures and compliance with regulations to ensure the safety of drivers and passengers
- Analysing fleet performance data and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Experience and Skills Required:
To excel in this role, you should have:
- HGV Driving Licence
- Must hold a Certificate of Professional Compitence in Road Transport Operations (HGV), and must be aware of all legislation affecting road transport operations. An awareness and understanding of PSV legislation is essential
- Previous experience in fleet management or a similar role, preferably within the transportation sector
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team effectively
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to resolving issues
- Sound knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with diverse stakeholders
