Working Pattern: Mon-Fri

Applications are invited for the position of Intelligence Clerk within the Intelligence Bureau based at North Kent (Agile working options available in line with force protocol).

 

This is a challenging role that requires the successful candidate to be able to assist the team in providing administrative support to the Intelligence Bureau, input Police Intelligence Reports (IRs) and conduct research on computerised Police systems.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Ability to interpret information and convey this in different formats, making informed decisions.
  • Understand the importance of data quality and take a proactive approach to recording and maintaining accurate records.
  • Motivated, positive, pro-active and inquisitive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to form strong working relationships with colleagues.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and actively assist others where necessary.
  • Good IT skills are desirable, as the role requires constant use of various IT applications.

 

You will work closely in support of Intelligence Support Officers within the Intelligence Bureau.

 

This opportunity would suit a highly motivated individual who can bring their experience of administration and organisation to the role.

 

The full-time post holder will be required to work a shift pattern Monday to Friday between 0730 and 1800. (One week 0730-1530, one week 1000-1800)

 

Kent Staff The role will offer flexibility in terms of place of work, including the potential to work from home for those who would like to. In the event that home working is agreed for the successful candidate, there will be a requirement to regularly attend a designated ‘Team Zone’ location on average one or two days a week, as agreed with the line manager. Currently the designated Team Zone for this role is located at North Kent

 

Essex staff: Successful applicants for this role will be defined as a Home based Agile Worker: Works predominately (80% or more) at home only working in the office when required to do so.

 

Kent Police offer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £24,462.00.

Kent Police and Essex Police have separate salary grading systems therefore the salary for this position will be dependent on which home office force you are appointed to. This will be discussed with the successful applicant before a final offer is made.

 

Note for potential candidates - It is currently proposed that the Kent Police, Headquarters site is re-locating back to Sutton Road Maidstone. As part of the relocation members of staff currently working at the current Headquarters in Northfleet may be redeployed to other workplaces and/or required to work in a more agile way. All new staff appointed to roles currently based at Kent Police, Northfleet after 12th June 2023 and before the move of the site will be accepting the contract knowing that their workplace could change. They will not be eligible to claim for any additional ‘home to work’ mileage costs or additional public transport costs incurred from the requirement to travel their new contractual workplace.
