Job description

The Interim Access Officeris an essential role for the provision and implementation of any access requirements for Theatre freelancers working on Shakespeare's Globe productions and projects, and audience members and patrons visiting the Globe Theatre and Sam Wanamaker Playhouse.

The role will support the planning and delivery of a comprehensive programme of assisted performances (captioned, audio described, relaxed and BSL) and will act as a company liaison during rehearsals, tech, previews and show running and work closely with Company Management to ensure that the access needs of show companies and creative teams are met, as well as overseeing the assisted performances for each production.

This is a hands-on role, from within the Theatre Department, working with teams and freelancers across the organisation to deliver an accessible and inclusive experience for our show companies and audiences alike.

We are particularly interested in applications from Deaf, disabled or neurodivergent people or applicants who have lived experience of disability.

We are committed to improving diversity and inclusion across our organisation. Don't meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and the Global Majority are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every single specification. If you're excited about the role but your experience or qualifications don't perfectly align, we encourage you to apply anyway. We particularly encourage applications from underrepresented groups such as the global majority, LGBTQA+, those with a disability and neurodiverse conditions.
