Job Description

A Building Control Surveyor, will do the following:1. **Reviewing Plans**: Building Control Surveyors review architectural plans and engineering drawings to ensure they comply with building regulations, local ordinances, and national standards.2. **Site Inspections**: They conduct regular inspections at various stages of construction to ensure that the work is being carried out in accordance with approved plans and regulatory requirements. This involves checking structural integrity, fire safety measures, accessibility features, and adherence to environmental standards.3. **Issuing Permits**: Building Control Surveyors assess permit applications and issue permits for construction projects once they meet all necessary criteria and regulations.4. **Providing Guidance**: They offer advice and guidance to architects, contractors, developers, and property owners on how to achieve compliance with building codes and regulations.5. **Enforcement**: Building Control Surveyors have the authority to enforce building regulations and may issue stop-work orders or citations for non-compliance. They work closely with local authorities and legal bodies to ensure compliance and resolve disputes.6. **Public Safety**: Ensuring public safety is a paramount responsibility.
