Interim Director of Procurement and Commercial

Your new company Hays are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a large Public Sector organisation to recruit for a Director of Procurement and Commercial. This is a hands-on Director role which will have a focus on operational transformation, covering a permanent recruitment process that is currently underway. Located right in the heart of the city centre this organisation operates across a large area of the UK, has spends in the millions and spans across multiple sites within the area. This is a 4-6-month interim role with the potential for extension and they're keen for someone to start as soon as possible and really hit the ground running.
Your new role This role is a newly created position with the key focus on providing strategic leadership, direction, innovation and driving the delivery of change. This role has all the hallmarks of a traditional Director role and will require a "real hands-on approach". Therefore, the ideal candidate would have strong experience working at any and all stages of the Procurement life cycle with spends in the millions - evidence of working at this level is a must for this role.
What you'll need to succeed My client is looking for a dynamic Procurement Director who can demonstrate the expertise, determination, and unwavering resilience required to ensure the delivery of vital services to the local community. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate substantial senior procurement leadership and management experience, with a proven ability to lead, motivate and develop the strategic procurement function as well as the performance of teams and individuals.
What you'll get in return This role is offering between £800 and £1000 per day inside of IR35 and also offers hybrid working. Additionally, for days on site, the successful candidate would be right in the heart of the city centre in gorgeous brand-new offices which are incredibly accessible via all forms of public transport links and car parks less than a 5-minute walk from its front doors.
