Job description

Sarah McKenna HR Recruitment is currently leading on the search for the position of Interim Head of HR on behalf of Education Collective. Reporting directly to the Group Director of HR and People Development, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the organisational culture, fostering employee engagement, and implementing the HR improvement plan aligned with ETC's People Strategy.

This is an initially a 6 month FTC and we are keen to speak to experienced HR professionals available within the next 4 weeks.

Education Training Collective (ETC.) is a consortium of leading colleges in the Tees Valley, including Stockton Riverside College, Redcar and Cleveland College, Bede Sixth Form College, NETA Training, and The Skills Academy. ETC. is committed to providing a diverse range of courses, training, apprenticeship opportunities, and professional courses to create greater opportunities for students and communities.

We are seeking a self-motivated, experienced leader with a background in providing strategic HR advice and guidance to Senior Leaders and Heads of Department. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for continuous improvement and have a minimum of 5 years' experience, preferably with a CIPD Level 7 Diploma in Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of dedicated HR professionals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the HR improvement plan.
  • Shape the HR service to support the curriculum and colleagues.
  • Influence the organizational culture and drive employee engagement.
  • Ensure ETC. remains an excellent workplace, as reflected in the recent staff survey.

Working Arrangements:

The role operates Monday to Friday with the option for hybrid working (part on-site and part remote). The main HR office is located at Stockton Riverside College, but an office at Redcar and Cleveland College can also serve as a base. Flexible and alternative working patterns can be discussed to accommodate individual preferences.
