The Company

This established and highly innovative business manufacture delicious chilled products across numerous exciting categories, for the UK major multiples and food service customers. They are now seeking a Technical Services and Compliance Manager on an Interim basis for up to 6 months.

 

The Role

As part of the technical team, you will be responsible for ensuring technical and quality compliance for the manufacturing site.  You will manage a large team and your key responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring technical KPI generation and interpretation, including non-conformance, customer complaints and microbiological performance
  • Ensuring paperwork for QMS, HACCP, Legislation, Customer Specifications and Raw material specifications are updated daily
  • Developing and maintaining a robust Quality System that meets legal requirements and complies with customer Codes of Practice
  • Supporting with customer audits and visits, with a particular focus as the expert on specifications, artwork, and artwork critical path management
  • Liaising with suppliers to enquire about raw materials, specs, and packaging Providing the practical and personal support required to achieve success within your team.  

 

The Candidate

Suit an exceptional Technical Services Manager who is ready to demonstrate their expertise within a complex food category. Ideally you will be educated to degree level in food science or a related discipline. Experience within a high-risk environment is essential, as well as working with the major multiple and a thorough understanding of QMS, HACCP and BRC standards.

First-rate communication and organisation skills are crucial as you will be liaising closely with internal and external colleagues. You must have managed and mentored a large team (5 – 10 people) – we are not able to consider candidates who do not have team management experience.
