INTERMEDIATE ELECTRICAL BUILDING SERVICES DESIGN ENGINEER:
The position is for a role within the electrical team at an award winning practice Hertfordshire; a multi-disciplined consultancy involved in all areas of the building services industry. We have a wide range of projects and clients from Racecourse’s to high-end housing to restaurant roll-out programmes and are looking to expand our team with a creative and motivated individual.
Key elements of the role include:
- Prepare designs/specifications/builders work in connection (BWIC) schedules
- Assist with budget estimates
- Attend meetings (internal and external as required) and site surveys
- Supervise trainees, junior engineers and CAD operators, and assist in their technical and general development.
In addition:
- Assist with obtaining external approvals
- Co-ordinate design/specifications with all other disciplines
- Provide technical information required by all other disciplines
- Provide information to CAD operators for preparation of drawings
- Use Company calculation software
- Maintain comprehensive technical files for all projects worked on
- Liaise with all other departments in the Company
- Undertake general contract administration duties
- Prepare CDM documentation
- Maintain accurate records of time and expenses using Company sheets
- Work within guidelines of Company Health and Safety Policy document at all times
- Undertake further education as agreed with the Directors in connection with job requirements/ CPD
Minimum requirements are as follows:
- A degree relevant to electrical engineering or Building Services
- A minimum of 1 Years’ experience within the industry
- Use of software packages including CAD/Amtech/Dialux/Relux/Microsoft Office.
