Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services

An excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a Consultancy based in Birmingham. They are a growing team of engineers and are looking for an ambitious and self-motivated Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer.   

The company are currently engaged in projects across varied sectors including Education, Residential, Leisure, Mixed Use, Healthcare, and Industrial.

Mechanical Design Engineer – Responsibilities 

• Working as part of an M&E team.
• Advising clients and team members on the integration of passive design and renewable/low carbon technologies’
• Provide support to directors in the preparation of designs and tender packages.
• Represent the company at client/design team meetings.
• Regular site inspections and reports back to the main contractor.
• Use of software such as AutoCAD, Hevacomp and IES to assist in the production of design.

Mechanical Design Engineer - Skills Required

• The expected candidate would have a minimum of 2-3 years working within a similar Consultancy role background.
• Communication skills - As you will be talking direct to Clients, Project Managers, Architects and other professionals directly at all levels.  
• Knowledge of Part L Building regulations and Low Zero Carbon Technologies.
