Are you an Assistant Quantity Surveyor ready to step up and take the reins of a GBP10m rail project? You would be working for a business that delivers complex engineering solutions for a blue-chip client base in the rail, bridges, industrial, infrastructure and energy markets.
The Opportunity
- For the immediate future, this role is an opportunity for an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor (or Assistant QS ready to step up) to take the lead of a GBP10m rail civils scheme.
- However long term, this is an opportunity to climb the ranks of an industry leading rail, civils, and infrastructure contractor with a turnover of GBP80m+.

Location:
- Clacton-on-Sea, Essex
- Hybrid Working 3 days on site / 2 days working from home.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day commercial running of a GBP10M project. This is an NEC3 option A contract which will include structures, reinforced concrete, p-way and signalling.
- Subcontract procurement, subcontract management, cost management, contract management, CVRs and final accounting.
- Liaising with the client and site teams to understand and report project progress, mitigating financial risks as and when they come up.
Remuneration
- Overall package of GBP50,000
- Basic salary GBP40,000 - GBP45,000 per annum
- Company car or car allowance (GBP4,000)
- Annual bonus paid before Christmas of circa GBP1,000.
- 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Flexible start and finish times with hybrid working on offer.
Essentials
- 2+ years quantity surveying experience.
- Experience with NEC forms of contracts.
- Managed projects valued upwards of GBP5million.
- Full UK Drivers Licence.
Desirable
- BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working in a Rail environment.
