Job description

How you'll make a difference

Cambrian Green Day Services is a Dementia Day Care facility offering day care to residents of South Gloucestershire, you will make a difference by leading meaningful planned activity programme to day centre service users helping them to keep active and engaged. 
 

What will you be doing

  • Daily, you will oversee the running of activities to co-ordinate, facilitate, support, & lead the staff team to ensure the delivery of high-quality services are provided throughout the day.
  • You will be required to have an understanding of the assessed needs of the people who attend the Centre. Whilst recognising the importance of building on resilience in the community to support informal carers and enabling people who attend to remain at home longer.
  • Supporting the team, you need to have problem solving skills to be able to proactively resolve situations presented by the staff that occur throughout the day whilst activities are being delivered.
  • You will maintain & develop links within the community including working with other community groups & intergenerational links.
  • To complete/review & maintain appropriate records including Support Plans & Risk Assessments that identify & meet the assessed needs of Service Users.

What we need from you

  • It is essential that you have considerable experience of working in similar service areas, with service users who have complex needs linked to the effects of Dementia. Which includes behaviour that can challenge staff.
  • You must hold a vocational qualification e.g. QCF/NVQ 3 (or equivalent) in Social Care.
  • You should be able to demonstrate knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations & codes of practice, for example Safeguarding, The Essential Standards of Quality & Safety and Mental Capacity/Deprivation of Liberties (DOL’s)
