Job description

A rare opportunity has arisen to join the casualty team of a highly respected wholesale insurance broking company, situated in an iconic landmark building in the heart of the City of Londons' financial district.

The Role

Your role is a pure wholesale broking role (market and client facing), where you will be supported by the wider team in respect to the main administration duties, allowing you to focus on developing relationships and negotiating liability placements.

Classes / Territories

Predominately general liability (wholesale, reinsurance and direct business), plus an element of professional liability placements emanating from emerging markets (80 countries in all) but where the likes of Poland, Portugal and the Caribbean are producing a lot of growth opportunities at present.

The Team

You will be working within a friendly, well-established and profitable team, who appreciate the art of face-to-face broking, and encourage travel to enhance client relationships. They also enjoy working collaboratively.

Your Experience

This role is suitable for someone who has gained at least five years experience in a similar role within the London market, preferably within a wholesale broking company. Who enjoys working within in team, is professional, and has a positive outlook. You must enjoy developing relationships with underwriters, as well clients, possess a strong work ethic and a can do attitude.

Role Duties

  • Broking and placing international business into the London and International markets
  • Building and maintaining new and existing relationships with clients/retail brokers
  • Providing technical support and advice to clients
  • Being responsible for occasional team leading duties and supporting junior members of the team
  • Working collaboratively with the team
  • Attending and contributing to broker meetings
  • Building and maintaining relationships with Underwriters
  • Provide expert technical advise to clients
  • Checking policies and client documentation
  • Duties as required
