Our client, who are a leading player in the chemical manufacturing industry, dedicated to producing high-quality products that cater to diverse industrial needs, is looking to recruit an experienced Logistics Manager. During an exciting period of growth, you will confidently lead the logistics function and provide leadership to a growing team.
As the Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive International Logistics strategies. Your role will play a vital part in enhancing the overall supply chain efficiency. You will be highly active and be instrumental in setting up new warehouses internationally and importing/ exporting chemical products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement customs strategies to facilitate smooth and efficient customs clearance for international shipments.
- Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and standards, including IMDG, IATA, and ADR.
- Play a leading role in managing high-profile projects including opening up new warehouses internationally.
- Stay abreast of and ensure compliance with global chemical regulations, with a focus on REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals).
- Manage compliance with ADR regulations for the road transport of dangerous goods, ensuring the safe and legal movement of chemical products.
- Implement efficient inventory management practices to minimise stockouts and excess inventory in the UK warehouse.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives in ADR compliance, customs, small vehicle fleet management, procurement, warehouse, and distribution pathways to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Proven record working in a similar Logistics Manager role, including responsibility for global import & exports.
- Multi-modal experience with particular focus across the Middle East & China regions.
- A background working with chemicals, and the associated regulations, would be highly advantageous.
- Strong warehouse management experience, including proven history of improving inventory management initiatives.
- Confident managing suppliers and handling relevant negotiations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the natural ability to influence at all levels.
