Here at GXO, we are currently looking for an Inventory Managerto join the team supporting our Mountain Warehouse contract in Peterborough. This global operation offers retail and ecommerce services worldwide and as an outdoor retailer, it has shown continued growth, year on year. You will be leading the stock and inventory team and will work in collaboration with the site management team and customer to deliver improvement initiatives and be responsible for inventory control and stock management at the site, providing 1st class inventory processes and reporting.


This is a full-time, permanent position predominantly working Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00, with some flexibility needed, this is logistics after all!


Pay, benefits and more:


We’re looking to offer a salary, up to £65,000 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 annual leave (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:


  • Day to day management of the inventory team, taking responsibility for all aspects of staff performance, including accuracy, process compliance, training, and development
  • Maintain stock accuracy and integrity in line with contractual requirements, minimising stock loss through investigation and resolution of errors
  • Interrogation and approval of departmental spreadsheets / reports as required to ensure the integrity of KPI data
  • Conduct regular customer reviews, including creating and delivering presentations, and manage key stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to use trend analysis to identify issues and areas of potential loss, ensuring all corrective actions are applied in line with the GXO process of continual improvement


What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • CMI Level 5 or similar, IOSH supervising safely or above
  • Strong WMS and systems experience
  • Highly analytical and IT literate
  • Experienced leadership skills
  • Good customer and stakeholder management
