Position Purpose


The Analyst, Investment Operations is responsible for the delivery of specific middle office processes conducted by FSI and oversight activities conducted by Northern Trust.


Key Responsibilities


You will be expected to perform the following tasks in a manner consistent with FSI values:

  • Oversee Regional Trade Support activities and issues associated with matching, processing and settlement
  • Oversee trade status (ACK/NAK) and investigate NAK issues with Northern Trust
  • Monitor timely broker confirmation and support in the resolution of trade matching failures
  • Review matching tolerances, and dummy broker codes where applicable
  • Oversee the settlement status within OMS platform and provide resolution support for failures
  • Review exception reports of Northern Trust IBOR and Custodian/Counterpart breaks
  • Assist with issue resolution of items where required
  • Oversee and review TMV reports provided by Northern Trust and support in the resolution of breaks and exceptions
  • Oversee breaks in Northern Trust transaction report and reconciliations between Northern Trust and DTCC
  • Review collateral margin reports from Northern Trust
  • Review specific tolerances and of margin dispute reports
  • Oversee collateral management process including oversight of margin disputes
  • Oversee corporate actions within Passport or visa Swift
  • Notify reconciliation breaks (OMS or Back Office) due to corporate action exceptions
  • Communicate with Investment Teams for voluntary elections
  • Monitor data delivery to Northern Trust
  • Review Northern trust tax tables on a periodic basis and advise on updates where required
  • Manage and perform required tasks associated with proxy voting
  • Notification of reconciliation breaks due to corporate action exceptions
  • Oversee Northern Trust intra-day cash process, input time sensitive cash updates and mandate flows
  • Oversee the regulatory reporting processes that are outsourced to Northern Trust and other service providers
  • Perform activities relating to cash management and provide oversight of transfer agency cash flows, mandate cash flows and time sensitive cash flows
  • Collaborate with global colleagues to ensure consistency of process and follow the sun model, ensuring alignment with the Northern Trust support model


Required Capabilities


Experience


  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant Asset Management industry experience
  • Experience of performing oversight activities
  • Experience of regulatory reporting within operations


Technical Competencies


  • Versatile and multi-skilled with a broad understanding of middle office processes
  • Competent in CRIMS and Aladdin
  • Competent understanding of Passport/CDR
  • Competent in Passport/CDR for Cash Processing and Corporate Actions
  • Knowledge and understanding of regional regulatory landscape
  • Knowledge of the investment life cycle
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Client focussed and commitment to Responsible Investment
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly upskill
  • Strong understanding of the entire investment process in order to oversee activities across portfolios
  • Proven ability to build strong cross functional relationships
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems
  • Demonstrates awareness and compliance to risk frameworks
