My client is a leader in their field within health care & pharmaceuticals. Constantly innovating and creating new technology, the IP Director is responsible for managing the portfolio from the Cambridge R&D centre. This position is at the centre of the IP creation.
Description
Reporting into the Group General Counsel in the US, The IP Director will be based in Cambridge, UK and be responsible for
- developing and implementing strategies to protect the intellectual property rights, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. Note the portfolio is majority patents.
- managing the international patent and trademark portfolios, including drafting, filing, and prosecuting patent and trademark applications
- proactively work with, support and provide technical solutions to key stakeholders (CSO, Scientific and Technical leaders, Business Development, Finance) to identify, agree and direct future areas of innovation and technical improvements aligned with company goals.
Profile
A successful IP Director should have:
- In-depth knowledge of intellectual property law within the Life Science industry
- Patent Attorney qualification (desired not mandatory)
- Will hold a BSc MA or PHD in a relevant science.
- Experience in-house would be an advantage
- The ability to work collaboratively with other departments
