Job Title:  IT Analyst Technical Infrastructure

Salary: £33,108 - £38,000 ( Depending on experience)

Location : Larne - onsite presence of 3 days is required

Benefits:

Job Summary

Caterpillar are looking to hire full time resource to join the European network team.  This position, based in Larne, is for a Technical Infrastructure Analyst, primarily providing remote network support services to Caterpillar Facilities in Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EAME) and globally when required.

The job will provide:

  • Wide Area Network (WAN) “test and turn up” support for remote regional facilities comprising working with remote personnel to arrange onsite engineer visits, as well as providing technical configuration for Wan devices by following Caterpillar standards.

  • Provide support for firewall, DNS/DHCP.

  • Providing adhoc remote support for network related incidents as and when required.

Specific training will be provided, depending on applicant experience.

There is an expectation that some out-of-hours work will be required so flexibility will be expected, eventually joining the on-call rotation for 1 week every 2 months.

What You Will Do:

  • Maintain the infrastructure of IT systems that support the business to function efficiently.

  • Design solutions by assessing and aligning the current systems to best practices and comply to federal policies and procedures.

  • Manage updates, upgrades, and other maintenance tasks in both hardware and software areas, to make the network more efficient, cost-effective, and secure.

What You Have:

A mix of technical skills from the following list:

  • CISCO CCNA or above or equivalent experience

  • Hands on experience working with Protocol – OSPF, BGP, HSRP,VRF,

  • CISCO Identity Services Engine

  • CISCO DNA Centre

  • Monitoring tools – SienceLogic,, ThosandEyes, NetBrain VNOC, Netflow CISCO Prime

  • SilverPeak - SDWAN

  • CISCO IOS upgrades

  • Cisco Router and Switch Configuration

  • Understanding of DNS/ DHCP/Proxy/Firewall  etc

Working knowledge of…

  • Hardware Infrastructure: Knowledge of computer architecture and systems programming; ability to design, build and integrate IT hardware into multi-platforms for the organization.

  • Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation.

  • Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyse and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.

  • A ticketing software such as Service Now

  • Demonstrated use of Microsoft office suite, Putty and other network tools

  • Familiar with project management methodologies and collaboration with a global team
