Our Client

Energetically embark on a project with a leading Belgian player in the energy landscape!

The Belgian and European energy landscapes are in full motion. Did you know that Belgium plays a crucial role in this? As part of the group, a European transmission system operator, Belgium ensures the reliability and sustainability of electricity supply in their country. With them, you contribute to building a sustainable, green, and reliable energy infrastructure that stimulates economic growth and reduces their ecological footprint. Together, they aim for maximum impact! They believe in the power of diversity: they are convinced that an inclusive and diverse work environment leads to more innovation, creativity, and better results.

The Role

  • As a Business Analyst, you play a key role in the digital transformation of the Assets department, focusing on significant improvements in efficiency and quality.
  • Additionally, support for energy transition, the increase in renewable energy, and nuclear phase-out is crucial. Achieving these goals requires thorough digitization of our activities and support for their people. Harmony of processes between their German sister company, is also essential.
  • The Assets department is primarily responsible for maintaining the electric high-voltage network and commissioning network expansions. Safety, quality, and efficiency are their core values.
  • The Business Analyst is responsible for designing efficient business processes.
  • Additionally, you capture business needs and translate them into specifications for IT systems. You bridge the gap between the business and users on one side and various IT partners (functional analyst, project manager, architect, etc.) on the other, challenging all parties involved. The goal is to develop and maintain the necessary IT tools to support business processes optimally and pragmatically.

They are looking for various Business Analysts to support their digitization projects, including:

  • Digitizing and optimizing the planning of outages for maintenance of the network, considering the risks to supply security and the complexity of renewable energy.
  • Digitizing and automating the switching (taking parts of the network out of service/putting them into service), making these activities faster and safer.
  • Improving processes related to the operational safety of their technicians and supporting ICT applications.
  • Developing business processes and supporting ICT applications for maintaining infrastructure at sea to support offshore wind farms.
  • Enhancing administrative support for their operational services (both on-site personnel and experts in administrative centers) in their end-to-end operations.

Responsibilities

  • Modelling business processes and guiding the business in redesigning their processes.
  • Identifying business needs and translating them into accepted business requirements in the form of epics/user stories.
  • Challenging the business regarding their needs and future processes.
  • Developing necessary business information models describing the information needed to realize various requirements.
  • Harmonizing business processes across different departments and between Assets and their German sister company
  • Coordinating and validating requirements between/through business and IT.
  • Validating the functional analysis of IT.
  • Testing and validating releases after the implementation of a tool.
  • Playing an active role in change, including creating training materials and providing training to end-users, following existing change management methodology supported by the change management toolkit.
  • Supporting the business in using IT tools post-implementation.

Requirements

  • Masters in a technical or economic field or equivalent through experience.
  • Years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst, identifying needs, drafting business requirements, and designing business processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and a critical mindset.
  • Willingness to challenge.
  • Good communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Capable of reaching a consensus and convincing various stakeholders.
  • Proficient in planning and organization.
  • Adequate customer orientation and flexibility.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP PM for the project related to administrative support or willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge of BPMN and UML.
  • Experience using tools like EA (Enterprise Architect), Jira & TFS DevOps is a plus.
  • Experience in the electricity sector is advantageous.
  • Experience in industrial asset maintenance is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of English is required (reading, writing). Very good knowledge of either Dutch or French is required (speaking, reading, writing); understanding the second language is necessary
