Your new role

The IT Change Management Analyst is responsible for leading the Change Management process with the additional responsibility for monitoring compliance with the IT Asset Management Strategy. Duties include overseeing all aspects of IT changes, ensuring Change Requests are progressed through their lifecycle, and that all relevant information is accurately captured before closure. There is also an element of carrying out audit checks on Assets to ensure adherence to the relevant processes.

This role requires excellent communication skills, analytical thinking, and an understanding of ITIL Change Management and Asset Management practices.

What you'll be doing
  • Coordinate and facilitate the review, approval, and implementation of all IT changes, including assessing potential impacts, risks, and dependencies.
  • Scheduling & chairing the change advisory board (CAB) and emergency change (eCAB), ensuring the information presented to these groups is complete and provides them with the information they need to make informed decisions about the changes, prioritizing and approving them, or rejecting them.
  • Conducting Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs) after the implementation. Identifying and reporting Incidents caused by the change and that the change status is accurately reflected.
  • Conduct regular assessments of IT Change Management processes to identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements as needed including use and functionality of the tool set.
  • Updating and maintaining the forward schedule of change and any associated business communications
  • Re-assessing the risk level or impact level, requesting additional information before approving a change or rejecting it if doesn't meet requirements
  • Providing guidance and support to IT teams and asset owners on complying with Asset Management governance policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Consider the forward schedule of change, identifying key business events that could lead to potential conflicts and work with requesters to resolve this.
  • Identify key periods of business risk where the instigation of additional protective measures may be necessary to protect the business from intolerable levels of service disruption. (Managing Change Freeze periods)
  • Identifying any conflicts in active changes and determining the most appropriate time to commIT Changes to the production systems.
  • Tracking and weekly reporting on all Change Management activities.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Monitoring adherence to IT Asset Management policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and obligations.
  • Conduct regular reviews of Asset Management practices reporting findings to the Service Management team.

  • Proficiency in generating reports to track activities and metrics.
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Experience working in an IT Service organisation or in a retail organisation
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Computing/IT or a related field, or have equivalent IT industry experience
  • Qualifications, certifications and / or in depth experience in the following areas:
  • IT Service Management—ITIL, ITSMF etc.
  • Experience of formal risk & issue management within defined processes and frameworks
  • Experience in Change Management processes / methodologies
  • Experience in Asset Management approaches / methodologies
  • Financial and commercial awareness
