At Vertu Motors, our IT team aim "To provide world class IT systems that enable Vertu Motors to deliver an outstanding customer motoring experience". We are now recruiting for an IT Field Engineer to support our dealerships in the West Midlands area.

As a highly mobile IT Field Engineer it is critical that you are flexible in your attitude to work. You will be responsible for mobile support services to the users of Vertu Motors IT Systems and Services. This will include:
- New hardware and software installations and/or movements
- Replacement and/or repair of equipment
- Maintaining all documentation, inventories, change control processes, audits and assets
- Managing 1st and 2nd line support calls as well as calls from third party companies
- Assisting the Infrastructure team in bringing new sites to life / installing switches / connecting servers
Your experience should include 1st line, 2nd line and 3rd line IT Support with a good understanding of Networking, VOIP, Switches, VLAN, Patching, DHCP and Active Directory. The Field Engineer role tends to suit an all-rounder with good levels of all the above rather than a master in one. Hands on Hardware experience is required to enable hot-swapping of various components along with network printers, local printers and scanners. Troubleshooting issues remotely and on site will be a major part of the roll therefore confidence with PC’s, Laptops, Tablets, Switches, Routers and working in IT Comms Cabinets is a must. In addition to this you will also need to be highly mobile, self-motivated and passionate about what you do. The role needs to be very flexible with possible early starts and late finishes if/when required to complete projects or dealership relocations.
The following attributes would be very desirable but not compulsory:
- Motor Trade Experience
- Microsoft accreditation, CompTIA or similar
- Dell, HP switch experience
- Previous Experience with a DMS (Keyloop Autoline or similar)
- Cisco CUCM IP Telephony or Twilio Spoke Phone
- Experience with Motor trade systems SLI, Elsa Pro Panasonic and Getac diagnostic equipment
