IT Graduate Apprenticeship - Distribution

Location: Perth, Scotland

Salary: circa £21,795 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time

Start date: September 2024

This is an exciting 4-year development programme where at the end you’ll attain a BSc (Hons) in IT Management for Business via Dundee University. The programme offers a mixture of on-the-job training where you will gain exposure to key areas of our business enabling you to gain a rounded, in-depth understanding of fundamental principles, techniques, technologies, and workplace behaviours. As part of this exciting programme, you will also attend Dundee University on day release to complete the academic element of your programme. It's not just a technical scheme; more about learning how we use technology to support the business and our customers.

Upon successful completion of the programme, we intend to offer you a permanent role in our Real Time Systems team where you’ll contribute to the changing face of technology within our industry.

Our Real Time Systems team provides a system design, project delivery and system support service for the Operational Applications that are used by our Network Management Centres to monitor and manage the Electricity Distribution Networks.

As a full member of the Resource team you will work on small and large projects and provide day to day support services for our Operational Applications. You will be part of a rota providing 24/7 support for critical national infrastructure.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • A Modern Apprenticeship in a relevant area and two science or engineering subjects at Higher level (computing science is recommended) or

  • A Foundation Apprenticeship in a relevant area and two science or engineering subjects at Higher level (computing science is recommended) or

  • BBBC at Higher level including two science or engineering subjects (computing science is recommended) or Equivalent

Unfortunately we are unable to accept applications from candidates who already hold a degree in this subject or similar as this is not a programme for graduates.
