WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
The position sits within the Business Systems Team and reports to the Head of Data Architecture based in Jersey. Other working relationships include all members of the Infrastructure, Security & Networking, Service Delivery, Site Management, Unified Communication teams as well as all users worldwide and external suppliers. The workplace is in Jersey.
Key Responsibilities
OVERALL PURPOSE
The purpose of the role is to assist with the design, development and maintenance of the Data Warehouse environment and associated applications, used for analytics, reporting and application master data management. The role also encompass some specific developments for wider data processes and integration, regulatory work as well as some ad hoc ETL and data extraction tasks.
PRINCIPAL ELEMENTS & ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Working closely with the Data Team, Business and Programme Manager across the Stonehage Group to design and develop and enhance the Data Warehouse in line with our corporate strategies, plus reporting and analytics capabilities.
The design and development of ingesting and or distributing various collective data sources / sets between applications, internal and external parties.
• Working with the data colleagues to identify and resolve data issues through configuration of data cleansing and master data / de-duplication projects and repositories.
• Managing and improve monitoring of the data related jobs and processes to ensure that jobs are successfully run and any remediation actions are applied.
• Working with business analysts and project managers to develop and refine the Warehouse and reporting/ analytics requirements.
• Data Documentation - Ensure that data flows configured internally within the Data Warehouse are reflected in as-built documentation (data lineage diagrams) where all new marts should have documentation available immediately on production release.
• Communication - Ensure that all Data Warehouse issues are logged and communicated appropriately immediately after the issue occurs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• A degree level qualification and/or equivalent experience in a relevant field
• At least 4 years' experience working with standard structured query language including MS SQL.
• At least 4 years' experience working on MS database technology used for business intelligence and/or analytics
• Any experience of other ETL tools would be beneficial.
• Experience working with Wealth and Investment applications and data.
• Experience with analysing complex requirements
• Experience in creating / maintaining as-built documentation.
• A strong desire to learn new technologies and expand knowledge in the MS SQL and data-warehousing environment.
