Hours: 37.5 per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Support Officer to join the IT Department at Milton Keynes Hospital until the end of November 2024. The successful applicant will play a key role in supporting the smooth delivery of the IT programme of work. The ideal candidate will have proven experience providing high quality Project Support, preferably in a healthcare environment, be an excellent communicator and pay close attention to detail.

Main duties of the job
The IT Project Support Officer, reporting into the IT Applications Programme Manager, will provide a range of secretarial, administration and Project Support to the IT Programme of work.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Provide administration and support in preparing for, during and post implementation of projects
- Act as a liaison and contact person, dealing with post and messages, ensuring these are passed on to the relevant person as soon as possible
- Deal courteously with members of the public and staff, always maintaining confidentiality
- Meeting administration, providing support to book rooms, manage invites, collate/circulate papers and maintain notes/minutes, recording actions and assisting with action follow-up as requested

Qualifications and knowledge
Essential criteria
- English and Maths GCSEs grade C or above (or equivalent)
- A level education or equivalent (or relevant work experience)
- Evidence of continuous personal development
Desirable criteria
- NVQ Level 3 in Administration/Finance
- Prince 2 Project Management (Foundation)
Experience
Essential criteria
- Working within a team in an administrative role
- Planning and servicing meetings, including note taking
- Working in a project/programme environment
- Creating/updating formal project documentation
- Handling confidential/commercially sensitive information
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in a large IT programme
- Previous NHS experience
Skills
Essential criteria
- Good IT skills across all Microsoft packages
- Fast, accurate typing (minimum 40 words per minute)
- Logical approach with proven planning and organisational skills
- Ability to work with a high level of accuracy
- High standards of written and verbal communication
