IT Risk & Control Specialist

One of the UK's largest and most successful Facilities Management (FM) providers are hiring! The company employs over 33,000 staff deployed on public and private sector accounts, dedicated to providing world class FM services, from engineering maintenance, to catering.

The UK & Ireland operation consists of several large business units requiring a robust IT support system, especially as the company are still growing.

This role is pivotal, reporting to the UK&IHead of Finance Systems, is required for a period of 3 months to implement standardised IT General Controls. 

The successful candidate will be a skilled and experienced IT Risk & Controls Specialist, with strong Internal Controls & Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Compliance knowledge as well as IT controls implementation and / or auditing experience. 

You will play a critical role in ensuring that the business has the necessary ITGCs in place to satisfy compliance with best practice requirements by designing, implementing and replicating these controls across the IT systems with relevance to our financial statements.

Actions will include:

• Review of controls currently in place across in-scope IT systems.
• Design and documentation of key standard IT General controls, aligned with global policies, business processes and international standards, adequately addressing identified risks and audit recommendations.
• Rolling out and embedding of standard ITGC’s, assigned to control owners across the IT systems that are relevant to our financial statements, implementing controls or updating and aligning existing controls where needed.
• Implementation of system-based periodic control self-assessments to be performed by the IT Function, or updating as needed where these are already in place.
