It Support Apprentice

Our education institution client is looking for a motivated and dedicated individual to join their ITC team as an IT Support Apprentice. This role is ideal for anyone who has a strong passion for IT and wants to pursue this as a career route. You will gain hands-on experience building, supporting and maintaining desktop operating systems, associated hardware and applications.  You will learn how to create and maintain users and groups in Active Directory and Microsoft Entra.

Responsibilities:

• Logging and resolving issues in the IT Helpdesk
• Desktop support
• Problem solving
• Prioritising and effectively managing your workload
• Installation of hardware and software
• Microsoft server and desktop patching
• iPad onboarding and support
• Installation and maintenance of projectors an AV equipment
• Active Directory – user creation and licencing for O365
• Being a team player
• Understanding how to deal with confidential and sensitive information

Required skills:

• National 5 Maths and English
• Good people skills
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
• Enthusiasm, self-motivation and a desire to learn
• A “can-do” attitude
• Genuine interest in IT systems and hardware
• Working knowledge of Outlook, Excel and Word
• Previous work experience particularly working with IT systems (desirable but not essential)

Salary:

£14,000 - £16,000 per annum

Hours of work:

35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm

Starting with insights into your current potential, they plan your growth in a programmatic way, close skills gaps with immersive training and ensure what you learn is applicable to what you do. They talk you through the specifics on the qualifications you gain and how they align in particular to your day to day role.

On completion, as well as the valuable work experience you have gained, you get a nationally recognised qualification at SCQF Level 6.
