The role
As an IT Support Specialist, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will join Mission Systems enable our customers to deliver their mission, through our products and solutions, using intelligence and analysis and delivering critical communication services.
Day to day, you'll work with an established, forward thinking, and responsive team within the ISR, Mission Systems Business Stream.
  • You will help to enhance an existing busy team, bringing continuous professionalism and knowledge to the service provided to our prestigious customers.
  • You will provide first and second line support for bespoke and niche systems, including incident management, system commissioning, provision of technical advice and asset and system management.

This role is full time and permanent at 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8am until 4pm and will be based at our site in Ashchurch, near Tewkesbury.
Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. We are happy to consider flexible, blended working, including part-time, condensed hours, and job sharing. Please ask about alternative patterns of work at interview.
Essential experience of the IT Support Specialist:
We are ultimately looking for someone with a passion for I.T who is enthusiastic and eager to learn and we will provide the necessary training for the right applicant. However, experience in the below would be beneficiary:
  • Linux administration
  • Virtualisation management (VMWare)
  • Windows administration
  • Active Directory and authentication administration
  • System data flow
  • ITIL service manager
  • ITIL asset manager
  • Problem solving / troubleshooting

Qualifications for the IT Support Specialist:
  • Hold a degree in a relevant IT subject (or equivalent) however, we value difference and don't have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.

Please note that this position is subject to enhanced national security vetting. The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements (this may include obtaining SC, NNPPI or Developed Vetting (DV) level of security clearances).
The successful candidate will be required to hold Developed Vetting (DV).
